Dr. Jevne is a native Texan born in Austin but grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Brigham Young University–Idaho with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and from the Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.
He served a full-time volunteer mission for his church in Southern Germany and Austria from 2008 to 2010. During his service, he became proficient in the German language and expanded his appreciation for the diverse languages and cultures of the world.
During his time in optometry school, Dr. Jevne enjoyed participating in various volunteer vision screening events. He feels fortunate to contribute to the optometry field. “I had hearing difficulties as a child that affected my ability to learn and read so I sympathize with those who struggle with their vision. The first time I shadowed an optometrist, I instantly fell in love with the profession and knew I wanted to help others with their vision.”
Dr. Jevne returned to work at the Southwest Eye Institute in 2018 after previously training at the Southwest Eye Institute. He enjoys history, playing and watching sports, cars, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and most of all spending time with his wonderful wife and three children.
